Lu has 20 years of pyrography experience and a lifetime of experience in art. Lu has been working with guitars & guitar straps with BurnWizard since 2008 and is one of the founding members of the team previously known as BurnMethod.
Since we engrave everything by hand, we can replicate most font styles!
We use websites like www.dafont.com for inspiration. You’re not limited by a set of font choices, but feel free to let us know if you have any font preference in mind!
4. Design details
All guitar straps include full contrast stitching, but we have the option to add an extra double outline using black engraving
Basic: only the stitching on the end caps is outlined with double black engraved lines
Deluxe: extra shading on end caps & all stitching is outlined with double black engraved lines (required and included in cost of straps where pattern fills the whole strap body, $25 extra on straps where pattern doesn’t touch the edges)

Yes, we can translate your custom artwork to leather, but this doesn’t mean it will look machine-printed. All burn method artwork retains the qualities of being carefully hand-crafted: You will see variations in line work and shading, and the details that will tell you this piece is one-of-a-kind.

Most guitar straps are available in 3″ and 2.5″ widths. The SIMPLE series gets slimmer with widths of 3″, 2.5″ and 2″
Most straps are adjustable “38-56” – a 10″ extender IS available
Looking for GRIP? Most of the straps we use have soft, comfortable garment suede backing that offers good grip, except:
For a SMOOTH backing: The SIMPLE series (without decorative end caps) has smooth buck backing on the inside, allowing for more strap movement
Not into our choices? We can engrave on most high-quality, thick leather guitar straps. However, we cannot guarantee the quality of the linework that will result on your leather without first doing a test. Please use our straps for best results!
Our designs are meticulously engraved by hand with a hot pen. Since we don’t use lasers and computers to put your design on leather, every artwork is infused with the artist’s style. Please expect some variation in the linework and shading – these individualized touches make each custom strap a unique work of art!
You can have as much involvement in the design process as you like, or let us create the artwork for you. We will work with you until you’re completely satisfied with your custom piece, so don’t worry about revisions or unwelcome surprises!
